Aisling Walsh’s RTÉ One television film ‘Damage’ has been selected for the prestigious Monte Carlo Television Festival (10 – 14 June). The film will compete for a Golden Nymph Award in the Television Film category.

‘Damage’, a 1 X 85' RTÉ One production, is written and directed by award winning filmmaker Aisling Walsh (Song for a Raggy Boy). ‘Damage’ stars Brendan Coyle (The Mapmaker), Natalie Press (Red Road) and Olivia Williams (Rushmore, Tara Road). The film deals with the aftermath of a violent rape set against the backdrop of an affluent Dublin society following the Cahill family who appear to have the world at their feet, particularly their daughter Emma - an emerging fashion model, whose 21st birthday party is looming. But the evening comes to an unexpectedly violent and traumatic end.

The movie will compete against 13 international titles for the TV Film award at the festival. Other selected films include the UK features ‘Persuasion’ directed by Adrian Shergold and ‘Fear of Fanny’ directed by Coky Giedroyc and the HBO film ‘Longford’.

‘Damage’ is produced by Subotica Entertainment’s Tristan Orpen Lynch and Dominic Wright with Jo Homewood acting as Series Producer. The film is scheduled to be screened during the RTÉ One summer season.
