FÁS Screen Training Ireland Budgeting Art Dept Course

FÁS Screen Training Ireland are seeking participants for a new Budgeting for the Art Department course running from the 26 – 27 May 2007 with Production Designer David McHenry (Love and Death on Long Island, Shine, Becoming Jane and Sammy and Rosie g

The two day course is aimed at Art Department Trainees and Assistant Art Directors, Trainee and Assistant Buyers. Another tutor involved is Jerry Organ, Production Buyer with a final Construction Manager to be confirmed.

Course Outline:
• By using a given screenplay and schedule, participants will through a detailed breakdown of the text establish the production requirements.
• Location requirements and construction builds will be assessed.
• Special fx, vehicles, animals, prop hire, drapes, greenery and landscaping will all be discussed as part of the process.
• Labour costs such as transport and materials costs will be explained by a construction manager.
• The Buyer will aid in the estimation of hire and purchase.
