Oscar nominated Irish writer/director Jim Sheridan (The Field, In America) and Oscar winning screenwriter John Patrick Shanley (Moonstruck, Alive) will come together for a special in conversation event a the Abbey Theatre on October 26.
New York native Shanley will be in town to attend the Irish premiere of his multi-Tony Award winning play ‘Doubt’ which begins its run at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin on October 25.
The ‘In Conversation’ session is part of the Abbey Talks programme at the famous Dublin theatre. The two industry veterans will chat about the play, Hollywood, filmmaking and much more.
‘Doubt’ is a serious drama set in a Bronx Catholic school in 1964. An imperious older nun suspects a popular young priest of inappropriate behavior with a student. Time Out New York called it "eloquent and provocative. A gripping mystery”.
The Abbey production is directed by Gerry Stembridge and stars Tony Award-winning actress Bríd Brennan, along with Starla Benford (United 93), Aidan Kelly and Gemma Reeves.
