Lance Daly’s ‘Kisses’ Begins Production
29 Mar 2007 :
  Kisses
A new feature film from ‘Halo Effect’ writer/director Lance Daly has begun principal photography. Entitled ‘Kisses’, the drama will shoot for five weeks in Dublin followed by one week in Sweden.

Set around the Christmas period, ‘Kisses’ tells the story of a young boy and girl, Dylan and Kylie, who run away from their dysfunctional homes and spend a night on the streets of inner city Dublin.

‘Kisses’ stars newcomers Kelly O’Neill (10 yrs) and Shane Curry (11 yrs). The pair were cast from thousands of young hopefuls that auditioned for the roles in late 2006. Supporting cast includes Stephen Rea (Breakfast on Pluto), Paul Roe (Adam & Paul) and Neilí Conroy (Intermission).

The feature is produced through Fastnet Films with Macdara Kelleher as producer, Les Kelly as executive producer and co-produced by Zentropa in Sweden.

This is Daly’s third feature film outing as writer/director having previously delivered ‘Last Days In Dublin’ (2001) and ‘The Halo Effect’ (2004). Dublin locations include Tallaght, Ringsend, Cabra and inner city Dublin. The production team includes production designer Waldemar Kalinowski (Stigmata, Powder), costume designer Leonie Prendergast (Speed Dating, Halo Effect), locations manager Pat Nangle (Trouble in Paradise), casting director Nick McGinely and sound mixer Rob Flanagan (Bachelors Walk, Killinaskully).

Finance is provided by Irish Film Board, Zentropa, Film I Vast, TV3, BCI and Section 481.
