A hunt is underway for young, talented Irish language speaking actors to star in the new Irish language/Gaelic drama series ‘Féith’ for TG4 and BBC Scotland.
Stirling Productions, one of the production partners, are currently engaged in a roadshow around schools in Northern Ireland to publicise the drama and stir interest from young people who may be interested in a starring role.
Breandán de Gallaí (Riverdance) and Gavin Ó Fearraigh (Rós na Rún) are visiting over 15 schools looking for young talent and talking to young people about the various possibilities open to them, should they be interested in a career in Irish language drama.
Tipped as the Irish language version of hit US series ‘Fame’, ‘Féith’ is a 10-part drama serial which will tell the story of a group of young people ‘coming of age’ in the highly competitive atmosphere of a Performing Arts Academy. All of the young people are talented performers, musicians, directors, writers etc (‘Féith’ is the Irish word for ‘talented’ or ‘gifted’).
The series is produced by Stirling Productions (Belfast), Eo Teilifíse (Galway), Tyrone Productions (Dublin) and MnE (Scotland).
Open auditions will be held in January 2006.
