The Irish Film Board has announced 10 successful recipients for its Multiple Project Development Funding scheme.
Launched in September, the scheme aims to introduce a fresh approach to the provision of support for producers who have an attractive slate of projects that they are seeking to develop.
The funding is designed to create in producers a sense of purpose combined with a sense of responsibility. It confers autonomy on recipients, who are trusted to know what projects to develop and how.
The Board says the selected production companies have been chosen to cover a range of experience, taste and ambition. All must have at least two viable and attractive feature film projects in development or available to them for development and they will have access to MPD support for a minimum of two years.
Selected from 45 applications, the following companies were awarded funding:
Blinder Films (Katie Holly, Kieron J Walsh, Richie Smyth)
Cartoon Saloon (Paul Young, Ross Murray)
Element Films (Ed Guiney, Andrew Lowe)
Grand Pictures (Michael Garland, Paul Donovan, Ailish McElmeel)
Newgrange Pictures (Jackie Larkin, Lesley McKimm, Paul Higgins)
Quidam Productions (Heidi Egger, Safinez Bousbia)
Samson Films (David Collins, Martina Niland, Neal Rowland)
Still Films (Nicky Gogan, Paul Rowley, Maya Derrington)
