After two years fronting TV3’s Ireland am, co-host Maura Derrane has decided quit the show to pursue new challenges.
Commenting on her decision Maura said "I have had two fantastic years working on Ireland am with Mark Cagney, Aidan Cooney and Alan |
Hughes and the production team but I feel the time has come for a change of pace in my life. I'm one of the few people who can honestly say that staying in bed past 3 am is a lie-in and I'm really looking forward it!!"
Andrew Hanlon Director of News & Information Programming at TV3 said, "I'm sad we're losing a leading member of the TV3 family. Maura has been with us since TV3 started back in 1998 when she joined us a news reporter before eventually joining Ireland am where Maura's great personality and skill as a journalist were allowed to shine. She will be missed by everyone here and by her loyal fans who tune in every day - Whilst I'm sure we will work together again in the future the search is now on to find her replacement."
Ireland am is the most viewed breakfast programme available in Ireland with a market share of 36%.
