Cork Fringe Super 8 Fest Call for Entries
29 Aug 2006 :
The Silent Light, Cork Super 8 Fringe Festival has issued its call for entries. The festival dedicated to films on the Super8 format takes place in Cork on the 7th of October.

This is the second year for the Silent Light festival, in 2005 over 50 entries were received from 9 different countries, with 15 of the best playing to a full house, with over half of the filmmakers themselves present on the night.

In 2006 screenings will run at the Unitarian Church on Prince's St. Cork, Ireland. The festival is an open submission event – as long as it’s been shot on Super8 film and under 8 minutes long (submissions can be either on original format or DVD).

The festival has confirmed its 2006 closing film will be ‘Stuntman’, by Canadian director Justin Lovell. Stuntman chronicles the trials of one young actor as he awakes to find he's late for an audition. The film features some of the best stuntwork and breakdancing ever captured on Super8 film.

Closing Date for entries is September 25th 2006

Visit www.corksuper8fringe.com for further information regarding submissions, as well as the programme of free afternoon events.
