DOP Ciarán Tanham (Bloom), Costume Designer Grainne Preston (Cool Runnings) and Production Designer David Wilson (Omagh) feature in a lineup of top Irish talent enlisted for the shoot of Jane Austin’s classic novel ‘Northanger Abbey’.

'Northanger Abbey' is a single drama TV film being produced for Granada. The 5 week shoot is scheduled to begin in late August with planned locations taking in Dublin and the surrounding areas and shooting on the Super 16 format. Alongside Tanham, Preston and Wilson, other crew confirmed for the shoot include Hair and Make Up Muriel Bell (Proof) and Production Manager David Byrne (Evelyn).
Speaking to IFTN, producer Keith Thompson revealed the cast is yet to be confirmed with casting agent John Hubbard currently scouring Ireland and the UK for the right actors to fit the roles on offer. He confirmed UK director Jon Jones (Archangel, Cold Feet) will direct the film from a screenplay written by ‘Circle of Friends’ writer Andrew Davies.
Thompson, whose previous producing credits include ‘Foyles War’ and ‘The Return’ is producing through his NA Film Productions company with Irish co-producer James Flynn (King Arthur, Veronica Guerin) producing through Octagon films.
The drama will broadcast on the UTV/ITV and WGBH channels.
