Vasquez & Crossman for Doco Story Workshop
15 Jun 2006 :

Rodrigo Vasquez's Condor

Filmmaker Rodrigo Vasquez and editor Guy Crossman are among the panel of tutors confirmed for the Screen Training Ireland, Filmbase and Loopline Films’ three day Finding the Story Documentary Workshop, taking place in Galway next week.

The course is designed to give documentary directors new insights on how best to achieve maximum impact throughout the editing process.

In this session, Guy Crossman will focus on his Sean O’Casey documentary with Rodrigo Vasquez and his editor, Una Ní Dhonghaile, hosting a master class on their 2003 pic ‘Condor:Axis of Evil' - an investigative documentary about a US sponsored terrorist network which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2003.

Vasquez received the 1998 Jerwood Foundation Award for his work on ‘April Diary’, an investigative documentary about the Malvinas War and its connections to the Dirty War.

Other tutors include; Sean McAllister, whose film ‘The Liberace Of Baghdad’ won the Special Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival; extraordinary Dutch Director Heddy Honigman, whose films include ‘Metal and Melancholy’ (Winner ‘Grand Prix’ Cinéma du Réel Paris 1994) and ‘Crazy’ (Winner Audience Prize IDFA 1999).
