The International Screenwriters Festival, taking place at the UK’s Cheltenham Film Studios from the 27 June – 1 July, has attracted some top names to it’s festival roster including ‘Gosford Park’ writer Julian Fellowes and ‘Gladiator’ scribe Bill Nicholson.

The International Screenwriters’ Festival, in association with Film Four, is dedicated to the art, craft, and business of writing for the screen. The festival aims to bring together professional industry delegates, high profile guests and new talent from around the world.

Attendees confirmed for the festival include Jimmy McGovern (Cracker), James Watkins (My Little Eye), Dan Reed (Straightheads), Phil Nodding (Shameless), Barbara Machin (Casualty) and producers Gina Carter (24 Hour Party People) and Kevin Loader (Enduring Love).

There is a New Writers’ Day scheduled for the 27th June which will precede the main Festival and hopes to attract emerging writing talent. The theme for this day is The Screenwriters’ Roadmap and will give delegates the opportunity to hear from established writers and industry professionals about the life and business of writing for the screen.Other areas addressed during the festival will include adaptation, censorship and self-censorship, and low-budget digital film-making.
