Principal photography has wrapped on the Irish supernatural thriller ‘Puffball’ in Monaghan. €4million film is directed by UK helmer Nicolas Roeg (Walkabout, Performance, The Man Who Fell to Earth, The Witches).
‘Puffball’ stars Kelly Reilly (Mrs Henderson

Presents) and Miranda Richardson (Dance With a Stranger). The accomplished cast also includes performances from Donald Sutherland (Don’t Look Now), Rita Tushingham (A Taste of Honey), Oscar Pearce (Resident Evil), William Houston (Elizabeth:The Golden Age) and newcomer Leona Igoe.
The chilling tale is set in an isolated valley where a young ambitious architect (Reilly) buys a ruined building to transform. But the dwelling has a history, and when she finds herself unexpectedly pregnant, the neighbouring farmers turn against her and her unborn child and try to change the course of nature.
‘Puffball’ is a Tall Stories/Amerique Film/Grand Pictures/Dan Films co-production in association with Wild Bunch, backed by The UK Film Council, Bord Scannan na hEireann/Irish Film Board, Telefilm Canada, Northern Ireland Film and Television Commission.
Producers are Julie Baines, Dan Weldon, Ben Woolford, Michael Garland and Martin Paul-Hus, with Executive Producer is Paul Trijbits.

‘Puffball’ is being sold in Cannes through international sales agent Wild Bunch. The film currently scheduled for distribution in the UK and Ireland later this year through Verve Pictures.
