John Crowley, director of the acclaimed 'Intermission', was among the recipients of UIP Directors' Awards at the Cork Film Festival last weekend.
Crowley takes home €20,000 for being named Best Director of a Feature Film while Rory Bresnihan has won Best Animation Short for his film 'The Butterfly Collector', part of the Short Shorts scheme.
The winner of the Best Live Action Short was director Sean McGuire for 'Ocras'.
Both Bresnihan and McGuire will collect cheques for €5,000.
The three directors received their awards at the Cork Opera House on Saturday prior to the 8.30pm gala screening of 'Love Actually'. Established in 2000, the UIP Awards are aimed exclusively at Irish directors and are the largest of their kind in the country, with a prize fund totalling €30,000.
