Shark Awards for Kinsale
19 Jul 2003 :
The 41st Shark Awards at Kinsale

The 41st staging of the Shark Awards at Kinsale is your opportunity to float your best work past a Jury that numbers Esther Lee, Worldwide Creative Director of Coca Cola, Andy Berlin advertising legend and Dave Droga, Worldwide Creative Director of Publicis, amongst its rank. Last year's record entry was awash with extraordinary work, and Lowe London's Grand Prix for 'Sofa' resulted in its top ranking on the 2002 Gunn Report. This year they hope your best work will reel-in a Kinsale Shark or two.

But Kinsale is far more than a creative fish-tank. As a delegate, you can immerse yourself in a programme of masterclasses, creative workshops, screenings and parties that will leave you breathless. Add to the mix, Kinsale's coastal location and shoals of the world's top creatives, TV producers, production companies and post houses and you have the most enjoyable (and productive) creative festival our business can offer.

Now, having stretched the fish analogy far too far, a quick update on the Festival awards. IAPI have added a new category this year for TV Station Idents and Programme Promos and Irish Craft has been added to the Craft section. The New Directors Award as ever will be run in conjunction with Shots and SVC. The organisers have also announced the involvement of Campaign Screen on board as sponsors of the Thursday Creative Workshop which will by delivered by Bob Winter of DDB Chicago, creator of the multi-award winning 'All American Heroes' campaign for Budwiser.

As for the science bit - the entry process for Kinsale is now fully automated. Our call for entries will not leave a paper trail in your office, simply enter all your entry and credit details on the Festival website www.kinsale-adawards.com and upload your work to the Kinsale section of the Beam TV on-line platform www.beam.tv, no tape, no forms, no hassle.

Should you not have access to a Beam affiliate you may submit entries on tape, see the entry procedures in this document or on the website. The close for entries is August 29th though delegate registrations will remain open until the Festival is full, as ever don't delay your booking as places are limited.
