'Intermission' to receive world premiere at 15th Galway Film Fleadh. Colm Meaney and Cillian Murphy will make guest appearances.
The Galway Film Fleadh is delighted to announce that on Friday 11th July it
will host the World Premiere of John Crowley's eagerly awaited cinematic
debut Intermission - an urban love story charting the journeys of two young
lovers, whose misguided break-up initiates a series of events which have
cataclysmic results for everyone around them.
The film has been produced by Stephen Woolley, Neil Jordan and Alan Moloney,
who will be in attendance at the premiere and features the cream of Irish
acting talent including Colin Farrell, Colm Meaney, Cillian Murphy, Deirdre
O'Kane, Barbara Bergin, and Michael McElhatton to name but a few. For
award-winning theatre director John Crowley and writer Mark O'Rowe
'Intermission' marks their first foray into the world of feature film.
Galway Film Fleadh Programme Director Sally Ann O¹Reilly is delighted to
include Intermission in this year's festival programme saying "This is the
kind of high octane, edgy drama that gives a vibrancy and vitality to the
Fleadh and to the new wave of Irish filmmaking."
Stars of the film will be in Galway for the premiere, which promises to be a
highlight of this year's Fleadh. Other major events at this year¹s festival
include Masterclasses with the grand dame of European cinema Agnieszka
Holland and Bond star Pierce Brosnan. The Fleadh will screen over 70
features, documentaries, shorts and animated films throughout the week as
well as hosting the Fleadh Fair Ireland's only film market.
