Galway Film Centre Award Winners Announced

Galway Film Centre/RTE have announced the winners of their 2000 Short Script Awards. From a total fund of 21,000, 3 awards of 7,000 were made. Winners are also offered the use of Galway Film Centre equipment and facilities.

First time director Julie Harris film "Therapy" (Producer Pauline Power), follows the lives of four young people over one day and night, reaching ultimate resolution in a rave club.

"Butterflies and Bees", directed by Jenny Roche Conroy (Producer Aideen Kane) looks at the complex sexual, social and power undercurrents between a young boy and a bossy little girl as they play a game in the summers sunshine.

Robert Fox's film "Pressing the Flesh" (Producer Matthew Hamilton) examines a battle over lifestyle choices fought with steak and celery. For more information see www.pressingtheflesh.com

Galway Film Centre Spring Training Programme

Galway Film Centre provides a programme of comprehensive theory and practice-based workshops designed and developed to meet the needs of new entrants, trainees and professionals in the audio-visual sector.
