Meeting House Square - June & July Summer Programme

Meeting House Square comes alive every summer with a programme of free, ticketed movies and concerts throughout June, July and August, and Games and other activities at weekends. The concerts and films are some of the most special events you will ever attend in Dublin, with music from the best classical ensembles in Ireland every Friday and free screenings of classic movies every Saturday night. This year, the essential dates to remember for the opening of the Meeting House Square seson are:

Saturday June 13th - free Movie Season opens
Sunday June 14th - free Games on the Square begins
Friday June 24th - free Concert Season opens

TICKETS

Movies and concerts are free and ticketed. Tickets are available for collection in person from 9am Monday morning in the week of an event from 18 Eustace Street, Temple Bar, D2. No more than four tickets per person. Alternatively, send an S.A.E. to "Tickets", Meeting House Square, Temple Bar Properties, 18 Eustace Street, Temple Bar, D2, clearly stating the concert or film for which you would like tickets, for reciept no later than Monday preceeding the event. Tickets are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.


MOVIES ON THE SQUARE - SATURDAY

Jun 13 John Ford's
The Quiet Man (1952)
A love story that packs a fearsome punch. The Quiet Man is a
passionate, full-blooded film. Admission free with tickets
(see above). Meeting House Square 10pm.

Jun 20 John Ford's
My Darling Clementine (1946)
Perhaps the best orchestrated Western of all time. The story
of Wyett Earp is dramatic and wonderfully brooding.
Admission free with tickets. Meeting House Square 10pm

Jun 27 Robert Wise, Jerome Robbins
West Side Story (1961)
One of the most popular film musicals in history. Admission
free with tickets. Meeting House Square 10pm.

Jul 4 Orson Welles'
Citizen Kane (1941)
The epitome of film-making. Admission free with tickets
Meeting House Square 10pm

Jul 18 John Huston's
The African Queen (1951)
A film that has everything - adventure, humour, spectacular
photography and superb performances. Admission free with
tickets. Meeting House Square 10pm

Jul 25 Sergi Eisenstein's
The Battleship Potemkin (1925)
The silent classic, widely credited with inventing many of the
techniques of film-making, will be shown with accompaniment
of a live orchestra on the stage. Not to be missed. Admission
free with tickets. Meeting House Square 10pm.
