Sharing Stories, the annual international co-production conference, is being held this weekend in Edinburgh (13 - 15 November). The conference a forum for film and television professionals in the international marketplace, and provides opportunity for film-makers to develop international partnerships and debate current co-production issues.
It is an important opportunity for Irish film-makers to meet with producers, broadcasters, funders and distributors as well as work through a weekend of co-production case studies, workships, screenings, and networking.
This year the focus still remains on co-production case studies, but will widen the discussion to include co-financing, distribution and marketing. 'The Antipodean Connection' is a new feature, reflecting the international trend by looking at European film and tv co-production with Australia.
For the record significant co-productions to be produced as a direct result of Sharing Stories are Margaret's Museum, Sweet Angel Mine, The Hanging Garden, Love and Death on Long Island and Beefcake.
Irish participants include: Parallel Film Productions, The Good Film Company, Zanita Films, Horizonline Films, Crossing the Line, Magma, and MEDIA Antenna Galway. There will be Irish speakers represented from the Irish Film Board, Temple Films and Little Bird.
