Kevin and Emer Rockett's new book on Neil Jordan, 'Exploring Boundaries' is published by Liffey Press next month.
The book, which will be launched during the Film Institute's retrospective of the writer/director at the IFC, is written by Kevin Rockett and Emer Rockett.
Emer Williams Rockett has taught film studies at University College Dublin, National College of Art and Design, Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology, and on New York University’s Dublin film programme. She has written on or presented papers on Irish cinema, the body and technology, and on the visual arts, while her research interests include cultural theory and early cinema.
Kevin Rockett is a Lecturer in Film Studies, Trinity College Dublin. He is co-author of 'Cinema and Ireland' (1987), 'Still Irish: A Century of the Irish in Film' (1995), 'The Companion to British and Irish Cinema' (1996), and 'Irish Film Board 1993–2003' (2003), and is the editor/compiler of 'The Irish Filmography: Fiction Films 1896–1996' (1996). His study of Irish film censorship, 'The Los Angelesation of Ireland', is forthcoming.
The Institute's retrospective co-incides with the release of Jordan's new film, 'The Good Thief' and runs until 19 February, when Michael Dwyer, Film Correspondent of The Irish Times, will host a Q&A session with Jordan after a screening of 'The Good Thief'.
