Film Board Marks 10th Anniversary with Showcase
25 Mar 2003 :
A major showcase of new Irish cinema is planned at the Irish Film Centre and Cinemobile, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Irish Film Board.

'New Irish Cinema in Dublin 1993-2003' takes place in the Irish Film Centre and Cinemobile from April 5- 17. This season is presented in collaboration with the Film Institute of Ireland, and includes screenings of 76 Irish feature films to take place over 13 days in two venues - the Irish Film Centre in Temple Bar and the Cinemobile, Ireland's state-of-the-art mobile cinema which will be located in the grounds of Dublin Castle. Among the titles are award-winning films Bloody Sunday, The Magdalene Sisters and Dancing at Lughnasa. The full programme of screenings for this exciting event is available in the current IFC programme, and a separate special programme to mark the season will be published soon.

Chief executive of the Irish Film Board Rod Stoneman said, 'It has always been the Board's aim to encourage the creation of many different forms of Irish cinema. This 10th Anniversary gives Irish audiences the chance to see the diverse range of feature films made over the past decade. We hope they are entertained and involved by them and that they will look forward to more films which reflect all aspects of the culture of this island'.
