The Bealtaine Festival has announced the 1940’s classic feature ‘The Philadelphia Story’ starring Katherine Hepburn, Cary Grant and James Stewart, will tour Ireland during May.
Directed by George Cukor, ‘The Philadelphia Story’ is a romantic comedy centering on a socialite wedding threatened by scandal. Katherine Hepburn plays the rich woman whose ex-husband (Grant) and a tabloid-type reporter (Stewart) arrive at her home, just before her planned remarriage, and she begins to learn the truth about herself.
The Bealtine Festival celebrates creativity in older age, with hundreds of events promoting all art forms by and for older people. Programmed by access CINEMA with the Irish Film Institute, the two-time Oscar winning film will begin it’s Irish tour in Tipperary Town on the 2nd of May and close in Navan on the 30th of May.
