The Irish short film ‘A Woman’s Hair’, written and directed by Conor McDermottroe, has scooped joint Best International Short at the Venice International Short Film festival in Italy.
Set in 1950’s Ireland, ‘A Woman’s Hair’ follows an unlikely bond that develops between a |
traveller woman and a young girl during a winter’s cold spell. The film stars Kelly Campbell (Bachelors Walk), Denis Conway (Boy Eats Girl), Frank O'Sullivan, Fionnuala Murphy and introduces the new acting talent of nine year old Orlaith Donnelly as Elaine.
Crew for ‘A Woman’s Hair’ includes DOP Ronan Fox (Studs) and production design by Padraic O'Neill (Adam & Paul). Kate Bowe produced the film with funding from Shorts Cuts the Irish Film Board/RTE initiative.
