The Censorship of Films Appeal Board has reversed the Irish Film Censor’s decision to refuse a certificate to the Irish zombie feature film ‘Boy Eats Girl’ unless a designated scene was cut. The film will now be released in Irish cinemas with a 15A cert on the 23rd of September.

‘Boy Eats Girl’ is a ‘romzomcom’ starring Samantha Mumba and David Leon.
Produced by Element Films, the film is directed Stephen Bradley and was shot in Dublin during the Summer of 2004. Having been withdrawn from the recent Galway Film Fleadh following the request by the Film Censor to cut the scene from the film, the Appeal Board’s decision comes as good news for the filmmakers and distributors.
Abbey Films, the Irish distributor of ‘Boy Eats Girl’ commented to IFTN today: “There's been a real buzz building around the release of this film, so we're delighted with the Board's 15A cert, which now ensures that the film's target audience will have the chance to see it on its 23rd September release.”
