Close to 50,000 Irish people have applied for the new reality TV show HAUNTED HOUSE which is due for screening on TV3 after Christmas. The show is seeking 20 people who could spend three nights in Ireland's most Haunted House the winner getting 20,000 euros and a 'top of the range' Jeep.
Louis Maquire of Irish company Funny Stuff TV hopes that the show may even be bigger then Big Brother when it airs.
The high cost of insurance is becoming an issue according to the producer. "The special effects of this show are so frightening that our brokers are giving us serious grief. They now fear we may leave mental scares on people who visit the house. But production is going ahead."
At the same time, a record-breaking 5000 auditions have finished for the Irish version of POPSTARS. The programme will show the presentations and events during and surrounding the auditions for the making of a famous Popgroup-to-be. The 13 part TV series will screen for the first time next Sunday on RTE 1, at 6:30pm. This hour-long special will show the first auditions as held in Dublin, Cork and Belfast.
The judging panel consists of successful music entrepreneurs Bill Hughes and Louis Walsh, and singer Linda Martin, while Aly White is the person behind the programme's voice over. Irish production company Shin Awil is producing POPSTARS for RTE.
