Margaret Taylor, Managing Director of UGC Cinemas UK and Ireland has resigned from her post as head of one of Europe’s leading cinema operators.
Screendaily reports Taylor has left her position just weeks after the company was bought out by US firm The Blackstone Group.
Having previously worked for Virgin Megastores and Virgin Cinemas, Taylor stayed on to develop the company after the Richard Branson giant was bought out by UGC. Throughout her time at UGC she introduced the cinema loyalty card, the unlimited pass and was responsible for the EUR13million re-development of the Parnell Street cinemas in Dublin.
The Blackstone Group acquired control of UGC cinemas in early December for a reported £200million fee.
