Cristian Solimeno and Amy Manson
‘Footballers’ Wives’ star Cristian Solimeno and ‘Torchwood’ actress Amy Manson are among the new cast members who have began shooting ‘Raw’ series five in Dublin.

The British stars join returning cast members Aisling O’Sullivan, Charlene McKenna, Damon Gameau, Keith McErlean, Tara Lee, Sam Keeley, Kelly Gough and Ger Ryan on the Octagon Films/Ecosse Films production for RTÉ.

The six hour-part restaurant drama series will shoot for 10-weeks with production underway since last Monday (August 20) in Dublin. Each episode will be 60-minutes in length.

The series will follow on from last season’s cliffhanger, which saw head chef Geoff’s partner and long-time cast member Pavel (Kryštof Hádek) killed off. A new man will come into Jojo’s (McKenna) life over the course of the series, which will also see a fresh start for Geoff (Gameau) and a wildfire romance for Shane (Mcerlean). Emma (Lee) finds herself drawn to a new boy, which Philip (Keeley) is none too happy about.

Liz Gill (Deception) and Simon Massey (Holby City) will direct the series, which was scripted by Tom Farrelly, Brian Lynch, Ursula Rani-Sarma, Anto Howard and Muirinn Lane Kelly.

Jonathan Curling is the series producer with Suzanne McAuley and James Flynn executive producing for Octagon and Michael Parke and Douglas Rae exec producing for Ecosse.

Cristian Solimeno is best known for playing Jason Turner in ITV drama ‘Footballers Wives’. He has also starred in ‘Spooks’ and ‘Wire In The Blood’. Scottish actress Amy Manson has had roles in ‘Being Human’, ‘Casualty’ and ‘Misfits’. Other new cast members include Dermot Murphy and Michael Malarkey.

The director of photography on the shoot is Ciaran Tanham (Controra) and the series will be shot on RED. Aisling Wallace Byrne is the costume designer; Stephen Daly is on production design and Anneliese O’Callaghan is the production manager. Sandra Kelly is looking after hair while Denise Watson is on make-up.

Dublin-based Screen Scene will handle picture and sound post with the series set to be edited by Grainna Gavigan and Dermot Diskin.
