Irish Doc ‘Three Men Go To War’ To Wrap Filming Next Month

The documentary on the Cuban Missile Crisis has seen directors John Murray (Broken Tail) and Emer Reynolds (editor on My Brothers) and producer Siobhan Ward (Broken Tail) film footage all around the world, taking in countries such as Cuba, Russia and America.

The film will air on PBS in America in October to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Cuban Missile Crisis, with the feature version being produced for worldwide distribution.

Murray and Ward of Crossing the Line Films are producing, with a number of Irish creatives on board, including award-winning director of photography Kate McCullough, who won the Cinematography Award for ‘His & Hers’ at Sundance and the Michael Dwyer Discovery Award, both in 2010.

Filming on the documentary is scheduled to wrap in August, with post-production being carried out in-house with three-time IFTA-winner Emer Reynolds (My Brothers, Shameless) editing.

Crossing the Line Films received €85,000 in a production loan from the IFB in the latest round of funding for the feature documentary.

Crossing The Line won an IFTA in 2010 for Brian Hayes’s documentary ‘Blood of the Irish’.
