Two new cast members have been added to the Jimi Hendrix biopic ‘All Is By My Side’, which is currently shooting in Dublin and Wicklow.
Irish actor Laurence Kinlan has been cast as a character named John in the upcoming feature. Further details of the character have yet to be announced but Kinlan is the fourth cast member confirmed for the biopic.
Kinlan previously acted alongside Heath Ledger and Orlando Bloom in Gregor Jordan’s ‘Ned Kelly’, and starred alongside Brendan Gleeson and Don Cheadle in John Michael McDonagh’s comedy ‘The Guard’. He also had a recurring role on RTÉ gangland drama ‘Love/Hate’.
Also cast is British newcomer Ashley Charles, who will play a young Keith Richards. Both actors will join Outkast rapper Andre 3000 (Jimi Hendrix) and the already cast Imogen Poots (Jane Eyre) and Hayley Atwell (Captain America). Atwell will play Richards’ former girlfriend, Linda Keith.
The feature will show Hendrix’s life before he was famous, and how Linda Keith helped him on the road to stardom. It will be directed by John Ridley (Three Kings) and co-produced by Dublin’s Subotica Entertainment, America’s Darko Entertainment and Britain’s Matador Pictures.
Other Irish crew working on set include line producer Donna Eperon (Love Eternal), cinematographer Tim Fleming (Once, Citadel) and assistant art director Nenazoma McNamee (Dark Touch).
‘All Is By My Side’ is currently filming in Ireland for a scheduled six weeks, and is being shot with RED MX and a mix of Hawk Plus / V- Lite Primes, which were supplied by the Production Depot in Bray.
