Irish actress Amy Huberman (Threesome, Rewind) has landed the lead role in the NBC comedy pilot ‘Animal Kingdom’.
Deadline reports that this was the IFTA winning actress’ first US audition ever, and that Amy will take on the female lead opposite ‘Weeds’ star Justin Kirk.
The pilot episode will be directed by ‘You Me & Dupree’ helmers Anthony and Joe Russo.
Brian Gatewood and Alex Tanaka (The Sitter) wrote the pilot which centres around a veterinarian Dr. George Coleman (Kirk), who loves animals but usually hates their owners. Amy Huberman is set to play Dorothy, George’s ex-girlfriend (now engaged to another man) who is assigned to run the animal hospital.
Amy will next be seen in Thaddeus O’Sullivan’s ‘Stella Days’ which hits cinemas later this year.
