Flanagan, Birthistle & Shortt in Lance Daly's 'Life's a Breeze', Production Begins

The film, which follows the lives of a family as they search for a lost fortune, stars Fionnula Flanagan (The Guard, The Others), Eva Birthistle (Wakewood, Breakfast on Pluto), Pat Shortt (The Guard, Garage) and new comer Kelly Thornton. Also starring are Gerry McCann (Raw,Roy), Lesley Conroy (Mattie, The Clinic), Philip Judge (Fiorgheal, When Brendan Met Trudy), Paul Ronan (The Tudors, Veronica Guerin), Brian Gleeson (Wakewood, Noreen) and Will Higgins.

’Life’s a Breeze’ is an Irish-Swedish co-production between Fastnet Films and Anagram Produktions will have its production based at Dublin’s The Factory before moving to Sweden for two weeks in the New Year. Producers for the film are Fastnet’s Macdara Kelleher (Nothing Personal, The Runway), Tomas Eskilsson (As If I Am Not There, The Runway) and Martin Persson (Happy End, Gone) of Anagram Produktion.

Production manager for the film is Seamus McInerney (King Arthur, Saving Private Ryan), director of photography is Lance Daly and it is being shot on 35mm. Production designer for the film is Waldemar Kalinowski (Crazy Heart, Kisses), Costume Design is by Anna Agren, hair by Anna Gronerus (Neverland, Becoming Jane) and make up is by Liz Byrne (Kisses, King Arthur).

Post production for the film will be handled at Optical Sandwich at The Factory and in Film I Vast in Sweden. The editor has yet to be decided. ‘Life’s a Breeze’ was funded by the Irish Film Board, BAI, Setanta Ireland, Film I Vast, Magnolia Distributions, Section 481, Eurimages and The Swedish Film Institute and is expected to be released in Autumn 2012.
