Keg Kartoonz Making 'Mad Cows' | The Irish Film & Television Network

Written and directed by Noel Kelly (artist, Simsala Grimm), ‘The Mad Cows’ is a comedy adventure series of bovine dimensions, following a group of cattle who suddenly find themselves being able to walk on their hind legs and talk. To cap it all, they even have opposable hooves! They travel the country in a "borrowed" RV, taking part in extreme sports. They also, inadvertently, foil the exploits of various unsavoury characters.

Music on the animation is composed by Dean Valentine, who has co-written music for Disney’s ‘Winnie the Pooh’ and voice actors portraying the bovine crowd include Karen Ardiff, Morgan C Jones, Dermot Maginnis, Doireann Ní Chorragáin and Gavin O’Connor. The series is financed by the BAI, Section 481, RTÉ and Keg Kartoonz.

’The Mad Cows’ is produced by Michael Algar (Teenage Mutnat Ninja Turtles) of Keg Kartoonz and is using Flash animation technique, which is sub contracted to Kavaleer Productions. Post-Production on the series will be done at Screen Scene.

’The Mad Cows’ will TX on RTÉ later this year.
