Hardy Bucks
The second series of the former Storyland Success, ‘Hardy Bucks’, is due to hit our screens later this year on RTÉ Two.

Filmed in Swinford, Co. Mayo for five weeks in June and July on HD, the second series sees the return of the Casteltown boys. Exploring the life in small town Ireland for a group of 20-something slackers, this series sees Eddie consider emigrating, Buzz wanting wheels and women, French Toast going sober and The Viper branching out into the entertainment business.

The 6x30 series is produced by Mike Cockayne of Integral Productions and directed by Liz Gill (EastEnders). ‘Hardy Bucks’ scooped the top voters spot in RTÉ’s online Storyland competition in 2009, and a first series was subsequently shot and shown on RTÉ in 2010. The second series is written by Mike Cockayne, Martin Moloney and Chris Torduff, the latter two who also star in the series as Eddie Durkin and The Viper. Other cast members include Owen Colgan (Buzz McDonald), Peter Cassidy (French Toast O’Toole), Tom Kilgalon (Boo), Eugene Maloney (Big Mick Fitzpatrick) and Eric Montgomery (Dannie Cassidy).

The second series of the mockumentary is currently being edited by Grainne Gavigan (Paths to Freedom) - venue TBC. Sound Post will be done at Dublin’s Gorilla Post-Production ahead of broadcast on RTÉ later this year.
