The IFB brings ‘Signatures' and ‘Reality Bites' to the Cork Film Festival on November 13th whilst Gavin Keane’s ‘Cold Turkey has won the Audience Award at the 2010 Sapporo International Short Film Festival in Japan.
IFB Reality Bites and Signatures
The latest series of ‘Signatures' and ‘Reality Bites', consisting of eight short films and documentaries, will be premiering at this year's 55th Corona Cork Film Festival on Saturday 13th November. This latest batch of shorts includes Michael Peter McDonald's ‘Pentecost’, Brian O'Malley's, ‘Crossing Salween’, Nick Kelly's ‘Shoe’ and Oonagh Kearney's The Christening’.
The IFB ‘Reality Bites' scheme encourages experimentation and the realization of a fresh approach to non-fiction filmmaking and will be represented by Ciaran Cassidy’s ‘Collaboration Horizontale’, Colm Quinn’s ‘Needle Exchnage’, Matt Leigh’s ‘Blue Rinse’ and Hilary Fennell’s ‘Hearing Silence’.

Cold Turkey
The short film Cold Turkey, written and directed by Gavin Keane and produced by Ruth Coady for Parallel Films, has won the Audience Award at the 2010 Sapporo International Short Film Festival in Japan. Over 2,700 shorts from 87 countries were submitted to the festival.
'Cold Turkey' concerns the misadventures of a frustrated Foley artist, curious children and petrified poultry. It stars Wuzza Conlon (Perrier's Bounty) and Angeline Ball (The Commitments) and was shot by Darran Tiernan (Belonging to Laura), edited by Roisin O'Donnell (Deep End Dance), with Karl Merren (Eamon) as sound recordist. Post was handled by Ardmore Sound.
