Straywave Media is currently in production with ‘Young, Dumb and Living off Mum’. The new series follows a group of young adults who've been waited on hand and foot their whole lives as they move in together and learn to fend for themselves. The series will shoot in and around Dublin until the end of September.
Directed by Julien Benoiton (Skins, Celebrity Salon) the 6 x one hour series is an entertainment/reality series format adapted for TV3 from the BBC3 format. It is produced by John Norton (The Fabulous Food Adventure) and Stephen McCormack (Celebrity Salon). The director of photography is TQ Boyd (This is the Disc-O-Boyz).
The shoot started on August 26th and sees the new housemates compete against each other each week in challenges set by their parents, designed to encourage them to become more independent. After each assignment, their parents meet to watch the footage of the task and decide who, based on behaviour and performance, should be eliminated from the competition. At the end of the series, the winner will receive an all expenses paid 5 star holiday trip for two people. The production manager is Ann Brennan and the transmit date for the series is TBC.
