Vote for Your Top European Film

The European Film Academy (EFA) is currently inviting votes for its 2010 People’s Choice Award. The award allows film fans across Europe to elect their favourite film ‘An Education’, ‘Agora’ and ‘Kick Ass’ among the shortlisted titles.

Winners of the category in the past have included films like Pedro Almodóvar’s ‘Volver’, Roberto Benigni’s ‘La Vita E Bella’, Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s ‘Amelie’, Fatih Akin's ‘Head-On’, and Danny Boyle's ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.

From Monday, September 1st onwards, film fans can cast their vote on the official website www.europeanfilmawards.eu and win a chance to attend the 23rd European Film Awards on Saturday, 4 December 2010, in the Estonian capital Tallinn on the Baltic coast!

The films nominated this year include ‘Agora’, directed by Alejandro Amenábar; ‘Baaría’ written and directed by Giuseppe Tornatore; Lone Scherfig’s ‘An Education’; ‘Flickan Som Lekte Med Elden’ (The Girl Who Played With Fire) directed by Daniel Alfredson alongside Roman Polanski’s ‘The Ghost Writer’; ‘Kick Ass’ from Matthew Vaughn; ‘Mine Vaganti’ (Loose Cannons) directed by Ferzan Ozpetek; Phillippe Godeau’s ‘Mr. Nobody’; ‘Le Petit Nicolas’ directed by Laurent Tirard and Faith Akin’s ‘Soul Kitchen’.

The European Film Academy and EFA Productions present the People's Choice Award in cooperation with a network of media partners across Europe including IFTN, AND, ARTE and STUDIO Ciné Live. Ernst & Young act as Official Tabulator.

The 23rd European Film Awards will take place in Tallin, Estonia on the 4th of December. They are presented by the European Film Academy e.V. and EFA Productions gGmbH with the support of European Capital of Culture Tallinn 2011, Estonian Ministry of Culture, the City of Tallinn, Estonian Cultural Endowment, Enterprise Estonia, Estonian Public Broadcasting, Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival and BDG.
