Fastnet Explore 'The Other Side of Sleep'
23 Apr 2010 :
The Other Side of Sleep
Fastnet Films are currently in production with a new Irish feature entitled ‘The Other Side of Sleep’. The thriller, starring Antonia Campbell Hughes (Bright Star) and Sam Keeley, is directed by Rebecca Daly and will shoot in various locations around Ireland until May.

‘The Other Side of Sleep’ tells the story of factory worker, Arlene (played by Campbell Hughes) who is a ghost in her own life. Arlene has been born and raised in a small town in the Irish midlands. One winter morning Arlene wakes in the surrounding woodland to find herself lying beside the body of a murdered young woman. As she’s forced to question whether or not she’s responsible, she is drawn into the woman’s world, to those left behind: her younger sister and her teenage lover who is a suspect in the murder. As Arlene continues to deprive herself of sleep; reality, her perception and her subconscious slip over each other and through her grasp. Furthermore someone is constantly watching her.

Antonia and Sam’s co-stars include Vicky Joyce, Gina Moxley (The Butcher Boy), Olwen Fourere (Space Truckers), Finian Robbins, Cathy Belton (Intermission) and Aaron Monaghan (Ella Enchanted). ‘The Other Side of Sleep’ is written by Glenn Montgomery (Joyriders) and Rebecca Daly (Hum) who also directs. The feature is produced by Macdara Kelleher (Colony) and Morgan Bushe (Nothing Personal) and the director of photography is IFTA winner Suzie Lavelle (One Hundred Mornings).

The film’s shoot started on March 29th and will continue until Friday, May 7th in locations such as Tullamore, Clara, Port Arlington, Geashill and Ballycommon. The feature will be edited in Dublin, the exact location is TBC and it is expected that the thriller will be released late 2010.
