The IFTA nominated drama, ‘The Last Confession of Alexander Pearce’, an Irish-Australian co-production has been picked up by UK broadcaster Channel 4.

The drama, which recently won an Inside Film Award and an APRA Screen Music Award, stars Adrian Dunbar (The Crying Game), Ciaran McMenamin (One Hundred Mornings), Dan Wyllie (Chopper), Don Hany (California King) & Chris Haywood (Shine). The film depicts the final days of convict Alexander Pearce’s life in Van Diemen’s Land.

Director of ‘The Last Confession of Alexander Pearce’ and co-writer is Michael James Rowland (Lucky Miles) and producer and co-writer is Nial Fulton who is thrilled at the prospect of the film reaching a wider international audience. “This film never ceases to amaze me,” says Fulton. “We always knew it was a little bit special but it just keeps punching above its weight. Winning the IF Award and getting an AFI nomination is a fantastic acknowledgement and testament to the efforts of a stellar cast and crew. Getting the opportunity to screen the film on Channel 4 allows us to reach a huge audience. I grew up watching Channel 4 push the envelope so we’re in pretty esteemed company.”
