Sideline Joins Irish Contingent at MIPCOM | The Irish Film & Television Network

This comes after Sideline Productions became the only Irish company to be invited to the European Pitch in Munich this year where broadcasters from all over Europe and Australia were introduced to Sideline’s broadcast of programmes such as ‘Class Act’, ‘The Model Agent’ and ‘Community Challenge’.

MIPCOM Target Distribution is selling Sideline’s factual real life crime series ‘Living With Murder’, directed and produced by Yvonne Nolan for Ireland’s commercial broadcaster TV3 in 2009. Featuring the personal stories of the victims, some of Ireland’s most tragic murders are re-told with dramatic re-constructions plus interviews with families. Another original format ‘The Model Agent’, directed and produced by Billy McGrath, for RTÉ Two and RTÉ International is being sold as 6 half -hour programmes.

Sideline is currently in production with ‘An Cór’ a factual entertainment format commissioned by RTÉ Diversity. The series, presented by Fiachna O’Broanáin of the Hothouse Flowers, takes traditional Irish songs taught at school and challenges experienced adult choirs to arrange their own version in a special competition. The four-part series is to air on RTÉ One in March 2010 and is directed and produced by Rachael Moriarty. The director of photography for the project was Arlene McGann and it was edited in Tangerine. The shooting locations used include Donegal, Limerick and Dublin.

Sideline is also currently in development with the second series of ‘The Model Agent’ and a new sitcom, ‘Never Mind The Nursing Home’, developed with RTÉ Entertainment and multi BAFTA winner and EMMY nominated director Declan Lowney (Cold Feet, Fr Ted and Little Britain).
