The first round of auditions for the second series of Tyrone Production’s ‘All Ireland Talent Show’ took place last weekend in Dublin. Directed by John FD Northover and produced by Noleen Golding the show will take the same format as last year except that this year’s series will have an extended run of 17 episodes.
Gráinne Seoige returns to host the countrywide search where hundreds perform in front of the returning five judges from last year’s series - namely Shane Lynch, Daithi O’Se, Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh, John Creedon and Dana - in a bid to achieve a cash prize and musical fame through viewers voting for them. The winners last year were the Mulkerrin Brothers from the Aran Islands.
Janine Curran returns to her post as floor manager for the show and the editing will take place in ScreenScene. ‘All Ireland Talent Show’ averaged a 40% share of the audience over eleven episodes in 2008 and the show’s finale had a 48% share.
The next round of auditions happens next Saturday, 5th September in the
Everglades Hotel in Derry.
