Dark Window Films are nearing the end of their shoot on a drama/documentary about James Connolly and are currently in pre-production on horror film ‘Loftus Hall’.
‘James Connolly’ written by Margaret Avinet & Philip Connolly, is directed by Francis Strickland and produced by Michael Parle, Kathy Horgan and Lisa Popplewell (also D.O.P.)
The documentary/drama shot on location in Wexford features a cast of actors playing historical figures including Tom O’Donoghue (James Connolly), Emma Eliza Regan (Nora Connolly), Michael Parle (Major Overton) and Irene Wright (Lilly Connolly). Shooting began in June for a period of two weeks, with the final week of filming to take place in July/August. Jackie Galvin is set to edit with Una O’Dowd.
Also in development for Dark Window Films and Kenneally Films is a low budget horror film ‘Loftus Hall’, based on the Wexford building of the same name. Initial photography begins at the beginning of September in Wexford and Waterford. Written by Gary Kenneally & Michael Parle the film will be directed/produced by Gary Kenneally along with other producers Michael Parle, Kathy Horgan and Lisa Popwell who will also lend her skills as D.O.P for the shoot. A cast is yet to be confirmed.
