Australian television channel SBS have announced that they are to air Irish Documentary ‘Breaking Boundaries’ which follows a behind the scenes look at Ireland’s 2007 journey through the Cricket World Cup on July 10th at 10pm.
‘Breaking Boundaries’ which was included in last year’s RTE Christmas viewing schedule was directed by newcomer Paul Davey through Zanzibar Films and Let's Not Lose It Productions (Headrush, Aidan Walsh - Master of the Universe). The film received funding through the BCI Sound & Vision Fund and Setanta Sports.
Proving a roaring success, the doc follows the Irish underdogs, made up mostly of amateurs; a farmer, a delivery driver, a civil servant, a teacher, and a postman; as they went into battle against the greatest cricketing nations of the world and were questioned by police over the mysterious death of Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer.
The Irish team is currently targeted to win against India this Wednesday after they secured their place in the World Twenty20 Super Eights with victory over Bangladesh yesterday.
