‘Ghost Machine’ Begins in Belfast
09 Sep 2008 :
Sean Faris
Principal photography has begun in Belfast on ‘Ghost Machine’- the third feature produced by Simon Bosanquet and Mark Huffam of Generator Entertainment (Cherry Bomb, Freakdog).

The supernatural thriller is the feature debut from commercials director Chris Hartwill, who has previously worked with Ridley Scott Associates. The film will star stars Sean Faris (Never Back Down), Rachael Taylor (Transformers), Luke Ford (The Mummy) and Richard Dormer (My Boy Jack).

The story follows military technicians and game enthusiasts who misuse a virtual warfare training system in a disused prison, stirring up the spirit world. Sven Hughes (Roach) and Malachi Smyth (School of Life) wrote the screenplay while DOP is George Richmond who previously worked as a steadi - cam operator on ‘The Quantum of Solace’, ‘Wanted’ and ‘The Golden Compass’. The project will mark production designer David Craig’s third feature with Generator having previously worked on ‘Cherrybomb’ and ‘Freakdog’. A four week shoot begins on location at Belfast's Crumlin Road Gaol.

Producer Bosanquet says: "Ghost Machine is the perfect debut feature for showcasing Chris Hartwill's talents - we're thrilled to be working with him and with such an exciting cast of young stars."

Anchor Bay Entertainment has US distribution rights and worldwide sales are being handled by The Little Film Company. The film is financed by Generator with support from Limelight, Northern Ireland Screen and Framestore Features.
