Brand New Series and Drama on TG4 This Week

While last night the documentary ‘Scéal Danno’ was aired – a feature about Danno O’ Mahoney, a Corkman who became a professional wrestler in the US – the award-winning doc ‘Tortaí na Daoirse’ will be airing this Wednesday night.

Windmill Lane VFX completed all VFX for US Film ‘Young Ones’

The Glue That Holds It All Together
20 Oct 2014 | Two-time IFTA Short Film Award winning director, European Film Award nominee and Screen International Star of Tomorrow 2013 Cathy Brady is known as one of the country's most promising young filmmakers and tonight makes a splash onto British television screens as the director on the acclaimed eight-part drama series 'Glue' on E4. Created and written by Jack Thorne, best known for Skins and This England '86 and '88, this darkly realistic series portrays a group of teenagers in a rural English countryside village and the murder investigation that follows after their 14-year old friend Cal is found dead.

IFB Funded Documentary ‘Coming Home’ to be screened at DOC NYC
20 Oct 2014 | ‘Coming Home’, a documentary funded by the Irish Film Board, is to be screened at the DOC NYC festival this November. ‘Coming Home’ will receive two screenings at the IFC Center in New York on November 15th and 20th. Amongst those expected to attend are director Viko Nikci, the documentary’s subject Angel Cordero and cinematographer Robert Flood.

UTV Ireland Appoints Paul Colgan as Economics Editor

Paul joins UTV Ireland from RTÉ, where he spent eight years reporting extensively across the channel’s main news programmes and platforms – including the ‘Six One’ and ‘Nine News’, ‘Primetime’, ‘Morning Ireland’ and ‘News at One'.

Budget for the Irish Film Board Remains as per 2014 Allocation
17 Oct 2014 | The overall budget for the Irish Film Board remains at €14.03 million for 2015. The Irish Government has also announced a review on the cap of qualifying expenditure per project with regard to the Irish financial incentive for film, television and animation production, which will ensure Ireland remains a competitive location for international production activity.
