Different types of support are available for distribution:
*TV Distribution
This funding seeks to encourage independent European audiovisual production companies to produce work (fiction, documentaries or animated films) that involves the participation or cooperation of least three broadcasters -and preferably more- from several member states. Find out more...
*Automatic Support
The aim is to encourage European distributors to invest in the co-production and distribution of films from other European countries. The amount of support is generated by the previous year's receipts from recent non-national European films; it must be reinvested in the co-production or distribution (minimum distribution guarantee or release costs) of films from other European countries. Find out more...
*Selective Support
Selective support is for groups of at least five European companies distributing a European film outside its home country. The aim is to encourage distributors to invest in promoting and distributing films from other European countries by helping them fund the distribution costs, including the cost of promotion, copies (including digital), dubbing and subtitling. The support is based on a point system so that the most deserving groups are selected. Find out more...
*Support to Sales Agents
Support is for sales agents and aims to encourage and support wider transnational distribution of European films. The support granted to sales agents will depend on their market performance during a given period. It should be reinvested in buying and promoting new films from other European countries. Support also aims to encourage links between the distribution and production sectors in order to improve the market exposure of European films. Find out more...
*VOD & Digital Cinema Distribution
If you are developing new technology to facilitate the distribution of European Cinema through innovation in VOD or Digital Cinema Distribution, please visit here for more information.
*Support for networking of cinemas screening European films
This support is for networks of cinemas screening European films, not individual operators. It is designed to encourage operators to include a substantial proportion of films from other European countries in programmes for premiere cinemas for a minimum period. Support should help develop educational and awareness-raising campaigns targeting young cinema-goers. Support can also be granted to create and consolidate networks of European operators developing joint activities for such programmes.
