Screen Skills Ireland - An Introduction to Nuke Compositing

Screen Skills Ireland is seeking participants for its upcoming one-day introductory training course to Nuke Compositing, which takes place in Dublin on Saturday, February 23rd.

The deadline for interested applicants is 5pm on Monday, February 11th.

The course will be taught by Andy Rea, a freelance digital compositor with a masters in Digital Effects from the NCCA in Bournemouth. Rea has over 10 years’ experience compositing for animation and live action, and has worked on projects such as Danger Mouse, Go Jetters, Game of Thrones, The Favourite, Lost in Space and The Little Stranger.

Date: Saturday, February 23rd, 2019

Duration: 1 day

Venue: Dublin TBC

Cost: €100

This course will give participants an overview of node based compositing in Nuke and introduce base rules and best practices. Following these best practices will inform participants on how to build comps is such a way that facilitates working as an efficient member of a larger team. The course will also cover how to build comps which scale as the complexity and size of your tasks increases.

The 1 day course is aimed at new Nuke users that ideally have some compositing experience (Photoshop/After Effects etc.) and lighters who have used Nuke for slap comps but would like to advance their knowledge.
