World Premiere of ‘You’re Ugly Too’ at Berlin Film Festival 2015
17 Dec 2014 :
Irish film ‘You’re Ugly Too’ will have its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival in February. The film was selected as part of the Generation section.

‘You’re Ugly Too’ is Mark Noonan’s debut feature film. Written and directed by Noonan, the film stars Aidan Gillen (‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Charlie’) as Will, who is released from prison on compassionate leave to care for his niece, Stacey (Lauran Kinsella – ‘Albert Nobbs’), after the death of her mother.

As they both head into the Irish midlands and attempt to be a family, they suffer a series of setbacks - Stacey is refused admission to the local school because of her recently developed narcolepsy while Will repeatedly comes close to breaking his prison-ordered curfew, and his attempts at being a father figure to his niece prove disastrous…

‘You’re Ugly Too’ was produced by John Keville and Conor Barry for Savage Productions and was filmed in Dublin and Offaly. Key crew members included DoP Tom Comerford, editor Colin Campbell and first AD Julien Benoiton. The composer for the film was David Geraghty and sound was by Jason Charbonneau, Steve Jackson and Sean Plunkett. The film received funding from the Irish Film Board.

The Generation category of the Berlin International Film Festival is devoted to children and young people. It is divided into two categories: Generation Kplus, which is aimed at children from the age of four, and Generation 14plus, aimed at children from the age of fourteen. ‘You’re Ugly Too’ will screen in the Generation Kplus category.

The 2015 Berlin International Film Festival takes place from February 5th to 15th.
