Following a hectic year planning this year’s festival programme, Fingal Film Festival are delighted to announce the opening film of this year’s festival will be the Irish premiere of ‘Palo Alto’, the debut from writer-director Gia Copola starring James Franco and Emma Roberts, with thanks to Metrodome Distribution.
Shy, sensitive April (Emma Roberts) is the class virgin, torn between an illicit flirtation with her soccer coach Mr. B (James Franco) and an unrequited crush on sweet stoner Teddy (Jack Kilmer). Emily (Zoe Levin), meanwhile, offers sexual favours to every boy who crosses her path. An unflinching portrait of adolescent lust, boredom, and self-destruction, ‘Palo Alto’ is an astonishing debut feature from writer-director Gia Coppola, based on the book “Palo Alto: Stories” by James Franco.
Final selection of the festival programme will be announced next week and is to feature some of the best independent films of 2014 from Ireland and abroad taking centre stage over the three day event. Tickets for 'Palo Alto' and select events are on sale now at entertainment.ie.
