Filmbase, in association with Staffordshire University, has announced a final deadline of Thursday 5th September for applications to its Masters courses in feature film and creative documentary production.
The programme equips trainee filmmakers with the practical skills to actually shoot their own feature film - with this year’s class film ‘How to be Happy’ screening at the Galway Film Fleadh this Summer.
The comedy feature stars ‘Love/Hate’ actor Brian Gleeson and Gemma-Leah Devereux in a story scripted by Conor Horgan about a marriage counselor who starts sleeping with his clients and a private detective hired to investigate.
Last year’s class produced ‘Keys To The City’, which also premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh in 2012 and has since screened at numerous festivals world-wide.
The intensive one-year film production course gives students the opportunity to develop the essential skills necessary for future roles in the film industry, while forging links with established filmmakers, rental companies and post production facilities.
Optional modules will also take place throughout the year in London and in Berlin during the European Film Market.
Prospective students must apply by 5th September for entry to the 2013 course, beginning later in the month.
