Organisers of the OFFline Film Festival have announced details of their annual get-together at this week’s Galway Film Fleadh.

Held in association with Film Offaly, OFFline will host a free BBQ this Saturday (July 14) from midday to 3pm in the city’s Rowing Club venue.

The Fleadh gets underway tomorrow (June 10) and runs until Sunday (July 15). A host of additional industry events will take place over the course of the five-day festival.

OFFline have also announced that they are now taking applications for the filmmaking challenge strand of their October 10-14 festival which will again take place in Birr, Co Offaly, this year.

The filmmaking challenge will see teams of filmmakers shoot and edit a short film in a matter of days over the course of the festival. The winning short will win a slot at the 2013 Galway Film Fleadh as well as €1500 cash and equipment and studio rental.

Entries are also being taken for OFFline’s short film competition, which is open to any short made in the last two years. The winning short will win €1000 in equipment rental. The festival’s other two strands in addition to the filmmaking challenge and the short film competition are workshops and screenings.

OFFline Film Festival is supported by The Arts Council and Offaly Local Development Company.
