Creative Europe MEDIA
With the support of the BAI Sectoral Learning and Development Fund, Creative Europe Desk MEDIA Office Galway will organise a Workshop on Writing a Successful TV Series with Screenwriter and Script Consultant, Emmanuel Oberg on 25th & 26th May 2020 in Bearna, Galway.

This 2-day Workshop, an extension of the 3-day Advanced Development Workshop, will explore the crucial distinction between conventional TV Series formats and the actual story structure lying underneath.

The aim of the workshop is to equip storytellers (writers, directors, producers, showrunners, story editors, development execs) with a detailed understanding of the principles at play in the pitching and development of a TV Series for broadcast or online streaming in the 21st Century.

The workshop puts a strong emphasis on each project reaching the widest possible audience, both at home and abroad, without compromising the storytellers' creative ambition.

Using clips, examples and recent case studies from successful TV series such as Killing Eve, Breaking Bad, Sex Education, Chernobyl, After Life, Occupied, Game of Thrones, Broadchurch, Friends, Money Heist, Big Little Lies, Fleabag, Stranger Things, Happy Valley, Mr. Robot and many others, the Workshop will examine the flexible yet powerful tools and techniques needed to master this popular storytelling form.

The Workshop will also explore how to create an irresistible bible, a compelling pilot, unforgettable characters and addictive storylines that audiences around the world will want to watch week after week once they’re hooked on the first episode.

There are a maximum number of 20 places available on the Workshop.

NB: Applicants should be available to attend the 2 course days,

Emmanuel will also be available on May 27th for a limited number of Script Consultancies.

The application deadline for this course is April 3rd, 2020.
